Hi! My name is Ryan Dunlap. I originally hail from Bartlesville, Oklahoma; but I currently reside in Pearl, Mississippi. I attend Pinelake Reservoir and am married with two daughters. I attended Bartlesville High School where I played football and baseball. For my undergraduate I went to University of Louisiana Lafayette where I got involved in campus ministries and was a resident assistant. I then went on to receive my Masters from the Reformed Theological Seminary.
The desire to help others is what prompted my interest in the field. I saw the needs of people and wanted to fill them, but just didn’t have the tools. By becoming an LPC, National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), and a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, I gained the tools I needed to help others the way I desired to. I am a good listener and bring my knowledge of the counseling field to this profession.
I try to always integrate the Christian worldview into the counseling sessions as He is the only one to give true peace and understanding. I strive to view everything in the world through a Christian lense and seek to use truth to help others find healing. My favorite Scripture is Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” This verse reminds me that as a Christian, I am not defined by my mistakes. It is my hope that the people I counsel understand that truth as well.
I am caring, passionate, and very extroverted! I love being around people and laughing with others. In my spare time, I golf, woodwork, cook, and read.
My main professional goal is to complete the Gottman Method training and become certified!
